 | Home | What is Project Stroud? Project Stroud is part of the Market and Coastal Towns initiative (MCTi) set up to assist in the regeneration of rural communities. The programme helps communities to plan for their future and develop the skills needed to deliver projects which will turn their vision into reality. Project Stroud covers Stroud town centre and many of the neighbouring parishes - Cainscross, Randwick, Rodborough, Thrupp and Brimscombe, Whiteshill and Ruscombe. We are an independent partnership made up of representatives from the local community, organisations and agencies. Together we strive to understand local needs, obtain funding and initiate community projects in order to improve the quality of life for people living and working in the Project Stroud area. What do we do? Develop knowledge of local needs and a network of local (and not so local) contacts, with a view to improving the quality of life for all in the Stroud area. Project Stroud will put together a long term plan/vision using information obtained from the people who actually live and work in Stroud and the surrounding parishes. It is a way for local people to say what issues are important to them and be involved in forming a plan that will help to shape the future development of this beautiful, but often overlooked, area of the county. MCTi provides a route to funding from government organisations such as South West Regional Development Agency, The Government Office for the South West, The South West Regional Assembly, The Countryside Agency, English Nature, The Housing Corporation, South West Acre Network, and the Lottery.
